When I read my first Dave Hunt book, I was heavily involved in one of the health/prosperity doctrine churches, and was already starting to doubt the sermons and ideas our pastor was delivering at all our church services, Bible study groups and prayer meetings, etc. I questioned him time and again because I knew that what we were being taught was not Biblical, but he would not change. After reading T.A.'s and Dave's book "The Seduction of Christianity", the Lord opened my eyes to the horrible truth of the deception that our church was being exposed to. My husband and I tried and tried to make our pastor and his wife (who also called herself our pastor, which of course is not biblical), they would not listen, and neither would the other members of the church. We decided, against all the wishes of our friends in the church, that we could not continue to remain in the church, and, with broken hearts, we left. In the following years, we saw this church fall apart, people's lives destroyed, marriages torn apart, and even one dear friend commit suicide, all because of the deception and false doctrine preached there. I have thanked God, every day since then, for leading me to pick up one of Dave Hunt's and T.A. McMahon's books, and then showing me all the other fantastic books that they, and many other biblical teachers, had written on this subject. My eyes were opened, and my heart breaks because such an important member of God's family has been taken away from us, but I rejoice, and am in fact a little envious, because I know that Dave is now with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, and will dwell with Him and all the other members of God's family who have gone to be with Him forevermore. I also lost my best friend to that horrible disease, melanoma, which caused her to develop multiple brain tumours, and within 2 months of her diagnosis, her subsequent death, after experiencing a terrible, painful death. Knowing that she, too, is with the Lord now, as she was one of God's most devoted servants I have ever met, enabled all her family and friends to rejoice that she was finally free of pain and suffering, and would never experience this again. There was nothing she loved more than lifting her voice in worship to the Lord, and now she can sing with the angels for eternity, sitting at the feet of the Lord. Heaven has gained two beautiful, faithful, and much loved people, and we left here below can only wait for the day that our turn comes. May Dave's family find the peace and comfort that we have been able to find as they go through this time of sorrow. May they be assured that there are many, many people throughout the world who will miss him almost as much as they will. God bless all of you, and peace be with you. Yours in Christ, Christine
