Rapture teachings explained to mormon kid

During the era of the rapture teachings , like "late great" I was a confused Mormon kid listening to Christian radio and reading Christian books and not finding any difference between Mormonism and Christanity. Down here in Los Angeles you would get caught between Vernon McGee and Gene Scott, there were few Pastors who would clarify scriptures, they brought to the table what Bible college taught them rather than the Word and the Spirit. With the book The Seduction of Christanity Dave gave me a pattern to look for when analyzing Christian teaching that had been corrupted by the world's teachings, and when Dave took on Mormonism with Ed Decker after I had heard myself Decker argue many times with Walter Martin.
