Brother Dave entered my life by way of my purchasing a copy of "Global Peace and the Rise of Antichrist" to read as I was travelling on a back-packing holiday around the world in 1995. I had been a Christian for 12 years - 2 as a Catholic, then the next 10 as a Penticostal. Having grown up Catholic, this book's revelations about European politics - especially Reagan and John Paull II conspiring to bring down communism - were captivating. I passed that book along to a fellow-traveller from NYC I met in Greece. He was studying European Politics at Trinity University in Ireland and was enthralled by information he would never otherwise have been exposed to. The following year, I bought a copy of "Sanctuary of the Chosen," having seen the author's name and remembered how I enjoyed his other book. I also saw in the back that there was a monthly newsletter called "The Berean Call"  being offered free of charge and sent away for it immediately. It was then that I began to read about things happening in Pentecostal churches that were unbiblical and were proven to be so. During the fiscal year of 1998-1999, I didn't attend church much, but walked with God daily. I married a girl of Italian Catholic background and didn't want to expose her to what she would see in a Pentecostal church. We began attending a local Christian Brethren church where I am still today. Tina, my first wife, passed away in 2008 but has now got the opportunity to talk to Dave in heaven. A year later, I remarried a widow named Balsam at that same church and God has blessed us with a precious daughter and we still fellowship at Green Valley Gospel Chapel. All through this time I have been receiving The Berean Call, by snail-mail and now email. I recall that when I used to receive the paper version, I pretty-much read the whole thing cover-to-cover with zeal and pleasure. I saw Dave twice when he spoke in Sydney. I couldn't help myself - I just had to get out of my seat and go over to shake Dave's hand and introduce myself when I saw him the first time. I later thought it may have been a little impertinent. My only defense is that I liken myself to those fans of rock-and-roll bands who press forward to see their idol. Though Dave was never an idol, I regarded him as a giant among today's teachers of God's word. He wasn't afraid to take on heresies - heathen, Catholic or Protestant (eg. Calvinism). I have written one novel called "Babylon The Great - The Mother of Harlots." I am proud to acknowledge that Dave's book and DVD, "A Woman Rides The Beast," as well as my own upbringing in Catholicism, was the inspiration for my writing the book. Today, I was surprised but not ashamed to say that I cried no less than 7 tissues of grief to hear of Dave's passing. He taught me to be discerning and to love Israel and to boldly proclaim the truth. It still hurts to know he's gone. But it helps to know who he's with. T.A., lead on brother. I'll be praying for you.
