Keep It in Prayer

Here is the latest info for our second TBC Conference in Bend, Oregon. God willing, the conference will begin Friday morning, August 10 and close Saturday evening, August 11. A pre-conference open house at TBC offices Thursday evening is scheduled as well as an outdoor service Sunday morning.

The theme of the conference is "Judgment Day: Israel, Islam, and the Nations in Prophecy." Speakers are Dave Hunt, Randall Price, Israeli General Shimon Erem (Retired), and me. Our hope is that this conference will again provide encouraging fellowship, edification, and spiritual insight, along with a greater love and prayerful concern for the people of Israel.

August is a delightful time of the year in Bend. Although our dates are confirmed, the details necessary for registration have not yet been finalized.Last year's conference was a wonderful experience for both the attendees and our staff; so we are looking forward, God willing, to the upcoming event with great anticipation. We shall keep you posted.

On Another Note

Here are a couple of highly recommended suggestions for 2007: 1) If you are not participating in a local, Bible-believing church, make every effort to find one and do so. 2) If that has become an exercise in futility in your area, start a Bible study with those who desire to know God's Word. 3) Get involved in a Bible study even if you are attending a Bible-believing church. 4) Make it your goal to read through the entire Bible this year, and encourage your family members, especially your children, to do likewise. (Update for those who thankfully harangued and helped me to do so last year: I'm through the first five books so far this year and have added note-taking to my readings. Those recent experiences definitely confirm what I was told: the more you read the Bible the more you want to read it.) Have a blessed year in the Lord.

In Memoriam

It is with great sorrow that we announce the death on January 18, 2007, of our much loved Bob Zachary, one of the original board members of TBC. The Lord led him, by faith, to leave a successful secular career in 1968 at the age of 32 to attend Prairie Bible Institute. At that time, Bob and his wife, Patty, had five young sons-a daughter would be born later. Finishing a two-year special course, Bob served at two interim churches and then for 33 years as the faithful and exceptionally fruitful pastor of the Madras Conservative Baptist Church, about 40 miles north of Bend. Having retired in 2004, he was still preaching, traveling, and otherwise actively serving our Lord when stricken with untreatable cancer early in 2006. On January 18, 2007, Bob temporarily left his wife, Patty, five sons, and a daughter for the Father's house of many mansions where he was surely given a triumphant welcome by our Lord himself. We are certain that either through death or the Rapture we will all join him there very soon. Along with his family, former church members, and so many others, all of us at TBC will miss him sorely. As for Bob, he is rejoicing in what it really means "to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better" (Phil:1:23For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
