The church is a workshop, not a dormitory; and every Christian man and woman is bound to help in the common cause.
—A. MacLaren
Keep about your work. Do not flinch because the lion roars; do not stop to stone the devil's dogs; do not fool away your time chasing the devil's rabbits. Do your work. Let liars lie...let the devil do his worst; but see to it that nothing hinders you from fulfilling the work that God has given you....He has never bidden you to defend your character. He has not set you at work to contradict falsehood [about you] which Satan and his servants may start to peddle. If you do those things, you will do nothing else; you will be at work for yourself and not for the Lord.

People need to be helped, not entertained....The Gospel that Paul preached was of "help" (Acts:16:9-10 [9] And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
[10] And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
See All...). When Apollos ministered in Corinth he "helped them much which had believed through grace..." (Acts:18:27And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
See All...). Apollos had eloquence, knowledge, courage, and zeal, but he could never have helped the saints except for the corrective ministry of the tent-maker [Aquila] and Priscilla, his wife (v. 26).
