None can quarrel with the teaching that God has the right as Creator and Lord of the universe to do with man what He wills, nor with the justice of sending us all to hell, for that is what our sin merits. However, Scripture clearly tells us that God is "not willing that any should perish" (2 Peter:3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
See All...), but that He desires "all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy:2:4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
See All...). Christ's declaration to Nicodemus that God had not sent His Son into the world "to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved" (John:3:17For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
See All...) seems conclusive. It certainly leaves no room for the idea that God has determined to deliberately leave some men in their sins. Calvinism thus presents serious contradictions.
