Nuggets from "Whatever Happened to Heaven?" by Dave Hunt
Unfortunately, the world's idea of successful marketing has influenced the church, causing it to attempt to sell Christianity to the world in the same manner. Many Christians assume that they must use Dale Carnegie-like techniques in representing Christ. In their attempt to be well liked by the world, they compromise thier Christian witness, often without realizing it because worldly standards have become such an intimate part of their thinking. They forget that the world in general never did and still does not respond well to Christ and would crucify Him again if it had the opportunity. As to what that means in our relationship to worldly people, Paul gave us something to ponder prayerfully: "God forbid that I should glory save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me and I unto the world" (Galatians:6:14But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
