At present the charge of anti-Semitism is technically being avoided by venting animosity only against the NATION of Israel, while professing a love for Jewish people as individuals. Leaders in this movement are as insistent upon the total defeat of national Israel as they are upon the total victory of the church, in spite of the many biblical promises that Israel will be restored to her land, with Messiah reigning. Instead of "God is dead," we are now told that "Israel is dead." A declaration of the latter, however is tantamount to affirming the former, since He is so often identified as "the God of Israel."
