The Apostle Paul very carefully made some distinctions in 1 Corinthians:8:4–6: “We know…there is none other God but one. For though there be that are called gods…but to us there is but one God, the Father. . . .” He then acknowledges that there “is not in every man that knowledge…” (1 Corinthians:8:7). The Lord, who is knowledge, emphatically declares, “Before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me” (Isaiah:43:10) and “I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me…” (Isaiah:45:5). —TBC

"Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed."
