See All...). Second Peter 1:3–8 tells us that we have been given all things that pertain unto life and godliness. The newly inducted soldier is given his uniform, helmet, rifle, pack, inoculations, and everything that pertains to his life as a soldier. Does that mean that he immediately uses everything with soldierly proficiency? Of course not! He needs training, he needs to build familiarity, and he needs experiences that cause him to use efficiently what he has been given. This is much like the Christian life. —TBC
