Deuteronomy:22:5The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
See All... does not mean women should wear only dresses and men, pants. It expresses a principle more basic than appears on the surface, in that God has created woman separate from man and given each a role to play, beginning with sexuality and procreation but including the order in a family. These roles include submission and headship, a separation unto one another in union, etc., and thus give a visible definition to the world of God’s authority and our submission, His ordering of things, and most wonderfully, the concepts of Father and children, of Bridegroom and Bride, of spiritual faithfulness vs. spiritual adultery. When our clothing expresses a perversion of and rebellion against these definitions, we give a message against God and against the gospel. However, to take Deuteronomy:22:5The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.
See All... at face value only, and to make it a mere mechanical rule, would be to follow the letter rather than the spirit of the passage and to subvert the real meaning and truth of God’s Word by legalism. God looks on the heart.
