Nuggets from Occult Invasion—Angelic Visitations and the Bible

Unlike UFOs and Marian apparitions, biblical angels usually appear as ordinary human beings, even touching and conversing with witnesses who are in normal consciousness. And unlike UFOs and Marian apparitions, there is solid biblical support for appearances of angels as “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation” (Hebrews:1:14Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?

The Bible records many instances of angels ministering to God’s people. In the Old Testament, angels appeared to Abraham (Genesis 18), to Moses (Exodus 3), to Balaam (Numbers 22), to Gideon (Judges 6), to David (2 Samuel 24), to Daniel (Daniel 9), and to others. In the New Testaments, angels appeared to Zacharias and Mary (Luke 1), to the shepherds (Luke 2), to Cornelius (Acts 10), to Peter (Acts 12), to Paul (Acts 27), and to John in the book of Revelation.

Nevertheless, the biblical warnings of last-days deception would seem apropos of today’s exploding interest in angels. They are now showing up as often as UFOs. About half of Americans believe they have their own guardian angels, and 48 percent believe UFOs are real. Newsweek reported, “Angels are appearing everywhere in America.” That same week, Time’s cover stated, “The New Age of Angels—69 percent of Americans believe they exist. What in heaven is going on?”

During an intense 11-day session in 1979, a young Missouri farmer claimed to have received from a being called Raphael The Starseed Transmissions, which Jean Houston called “perhaps the finest example of ‘channeled knowledge’ I ever encountered.” Once again we see the clear opposition to Christianity. The following from “Raphael” is a diabolically clever perversion of what the biblical Christ taught:

“I am the Christ. I am coming this day through the atmosphere of your consciousness. I am asking you to open the door of your reason, to allow me into your heart…. I came to you first through a man named Jesus…the bridegroom returns. Whoever will come after me will have to die to all definitions of self, take up my spirit, and follow along the lines of my vibrational field.”
