In 1985, speaking to Muslims in Brussels, Belgium, the Pope said: “Christians and Moslems, we meet one another in faith in the one God…[and] strive to put into practice…the teaching of our respective holy books.” Islam’s Allah (the moon god) was the chief idol in the Kaabah long before Mohammed was born. Allah is not the God of the Bible, nor could any Christian commend the teachings of the Koran, which calls for jihad (holy war) against all non-Muslims. The Koran declares that Allah is not a father and has no son.
