ECT has now been revised using evangelical language and signed again. Colson, Bright, Packer, Robertson, and the other Protestant signatories hope thereby to gain the support of other evangelical leaders. However, the fact that some Catholic leaders have signed ECT2 has not changed in the slightest official Roman Catholic dogma with its false gospel of works and ritual, nor has it changed Catholicism as practiced by one billion faithful worldwide. ECT2 is an exercise in futility and duplicity.
