Over the last three years or so, we have witnessed the teaming up of what I refer to as "unlikely allies." In 2018 headlines were made as "Atheist Richard Dawkins warns against celebrating the alleged demise of Christianity in Europe." In 2019, historian and atheist Tom Holland came out with Dominion: How the Christian Revolution Remade the World. He now refers to himself as a Christian atheist. In the same year, atheist (now agnostic) James Lindsay and Peter Boghossian became allied with Southern Baptist Michael O'Fallon in addressing Critical Race Theory. Boghossian also traveled the university circuit with Corey Miller to demonstrate that those pursuing truth can disagree without demonizing one another. We wrote on some of this in "Atheists Need Christianity." One of the pressing questions is, as Western Culture repaganizes itself back to the First Century, does Christianity die? Our friends at Apologia report commented on a new book by French political theorist Chantal Delsol.
“In the West, Christian society is the source of our cultural norms and moral pro-scriptions, not to mention the territory of our present-day culture wars, with their strident arguments over pronouns and statues and gay bridegrooms and pedophile priests.
“For the most part, Ms. Delsol rues what is being lost as Christian civilization ends. Yet her arguments, though they are strong and pointed, are almost secondary to the tone of the book, which is a model for polite engagement with hotly contested subjects....”
She argues that Christianity will still exist with its beliefs and practices, but a rival civilization will rise up. Which one will prevail for the moment is unknown [she says]. In the end, it will be "the faith once delivered to the saints" (Jude 3), but it may be a rough ride between now and then.

[TBC: There is no doubt who will prevail as Revelation 21 clearly tells us, “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”5 And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”]
