It may seem reasonable that natural selection explains how life develops once there is a live mutating replicator. It does not, however, explain the origin of energy, out of which everything is made; nor does it explain what life is or how it attaches itself to certain lumps of matter to bring into existence the self-replicating cell needed as the vehicle of natural selection and evolution. Isn’t it presumptive to speak of natural selection as the mechanism of change and development when neither this nor any other mechanism can create energy and life? When will atheists stop misrepresenting their favorite speculations as science?
