The Mysteries of Origins Solved

Before I became a believer, I thought Darwinism and the Big Bang had the answers to the origins of the cosmos and life. After I came to the faith that was challenged, I came to understand that God is the creator and sustainer of all that is created. A few years later, as I was at a checkout counter, I noticed the cover of the November 7, 1977 Time Magazine. Richard Leakey. the son of the famous anthropologist Dr. Louis S. B. Leakey, was on the cover next to a being that had ape and human characteristics. The article invests a great deal of ink in explaining the process of evolution from ape to man. But, near the end, we read:

“Scientists concede that even their most cherished theories are based on embarrassingly few fossil fragments, and that huge gaps exist in the fossil record.” 

It would have been more honest if, in the beginning, they started with, "Everything we are about to write is from our imagination" or perhaps "Once upon a time." The "missing link" hadn't been found, and they just dropped in two obscure sentences near the end to acknowledge that. We have a similar situation with a recent article in Popular Mechanics, “Scientists Solve a 1.75-Billlion-Year Mystery About How Life Materizied on Earth.” The third bullet point under the image reads:

“Scientists believe the study of additional fossils could yield more clues about the origins of life.”

We might translate this as, "We don't really know any more now than before we did this research, but someday we might find an answer to how everything popped into existence from nothing for no apparent reason. But we have faith that someday we will.
