With so many appropriating the word “global,” it’s not surprising that Christian groups have also latched onto the word and applied it to what may be a perfectly legitimate mission project. The call to “unity” that we hear so loudly these days is certainly something to be concerned about, and many of these so-called Christian “global” efforts are only a tool for ecumenism. At the very least, so many like-sounding groups will certainly cause confusion. How much we need to hold to the Lord’s admonition to “prove all things, hold fast that which is good” (1 Thessalonians:5:21Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
