Hunt, Dave

We are warned that all of the true children of the Lord will be corrected. The Lord does not take his disobedient children lightly and points out that judgment begins at His house (1 Peter:4:17). As to repentance, it is clear that the process of believing involves a turning (repentance) from our dead works. Paul spoke of how he testified both to the Jews and Gentiles, “repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts:20:21). He reminded the Thessalonians that they had “turned to God from idols (or repented) to serve the living and true God” (1 Thessalonians:1:9). It is no different today. —TBC
