Hunt, Dave

One might learn from the experience of the man who had a heart after God (David) and yet still gave in to adultery and murder, with horrible results for his family. No wonder that 1 Corinthians:10:6–7, speaking of the Old Testament experience of the Israelites, very plainly tells us that “these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.” Other passages indicate that the entire experience of Israel (including their kings) was recorded so that we might learn and avoid the same errors and sins.

"Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."
