Hunt, Dave

The Bible is full of people who were hated, rejected, despised, abused, cast out even by their families, who suffered deprivation of all kinds, and yet who rejoiced in the Lord and triumphed in the faith. I find no hint that those mentioned in the last part of Hebrews 11 who were tortured, who wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, tormented, afflicted, were able to pull through because they found someone who could minister deep emotional healing in the area of past abuses or rejection. It was simply a matter of faith in God, which comes from knowing Him—who He is, not who we are. —TBC

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."
