We know from Scripture that all things are lawful for us, but all things do not build up or strengthen us. Paul wrote that it was perfectly permissible for believers to partake of food offered to idols. After all, an idol was nothing when compared to the only true God. Nevertheless, in chapters 8 and 10 of 1 Corinthians, Paul lists some exceptions where our liberty must give way in consideration of others; and many places in Proverbs tell us how to occupy our time. The Bible has something to say about vain imaginations, as well. It tells us in Philippians what we should be thinking about. The Bible tells us how we are to live. —TBC
