Hunt, Dave

It is one of the unfortunate aspects of today’s Christianity that if a person expresses a belief in certain doctrines, he is immediately presumed to embrace all sorts of other things. Isn’t it ironic that one may believe in the security of the believer and be accused by Arminian-minded folks of being a Calvinist while simultaneously being branded an Arminian by Calvinists? How important it is to rightly divide the Word of truth (2 Timothy:2:15)— rather than to fall in with the accepted doctrines of a particular persuasion! Our lives are further complicated because the abuses of some have tinged words with meaning beyond their original intent. How comforting in these confusing times to know that the “foundation of God standeth sure,” and “the Lord knoweth them that are his” (2 Timothy:2:19).

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

2 Timothy:2:15
