Psychotherapies and their underlying psychologies constitute religion rather than science. In attempting to change the inner man, they intrude into God’s territory. They contradict and interfere with God’s means of transforming the inner man. By offering various other means of change, they subvert the Gospel and bypass the Cross and the resurrected life. Because they are man-made, humanistic religions, psychotherapies are religions of works. Paul urged believers to walk in Christ and have nothing to do with worldly means of growth and change (Colossians:2:6-8 [6] As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
[7] Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
[8] Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

The Lord Himself is the Christian’s source for living and confronting [life’s] problems. The Bible gives the only accurate understanding of why man is the way he is and how he is to change. The Lord and His Word provide all that is necessary for life and godliness (2 Peter:1:2-4 [2] Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
[3] According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
[4] Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
