Engulfed in Encouragements!
Wow! We’ve recently received a flood of letters (far more than we can individually respond to) which overwhelmed us with blessed encouragements. Such a reflection of God’s love by fellow believers has us crying out with David, “Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalm:103:1(A Psalm of David.) Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
See All...,2). Our prayers are that all our readers would receive a similar blessed “jump start” for the new year.

We Stand Corrected
In a TBC comment on the November “News Alert,” we said, “You will search in vain trying to find historical or biblical support for Peter ever having resided in Rome.” A reader sent us documented quotations from Christian leaders and historians from the second through the fourth centuries which indicate Peter resided in Rome. Although some regard the historical information as disputable, it is clear that the Bible offers no explicit support for Peter’s residency in Rome, for him being a bishop of Rome, or him being the first pope, a title and office without precedent in the Scriptures.
