How’s It Going?
At the risk of belaboring something that may put a few people off, I nevertheless have to ask how your habit of reading the Word daily is going.
The reasons for this exhortation (harassment, nudging, encouraging, badgering, etc.) are many, but consider this one: from the observation that a widespread deception is growing rapidly throughout the church there is only one sure way to avoid being deceived. We must be continually in the Scriptures, not only growing in our understanding but living out what we read. There is no better antidote or prevention program for the apostasy that the Bible tells us will characterize the last days.
“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect” (Matthew:24:4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
See All..., 24).
“Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;…Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie…” (2 Thessalonians:2:3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
See All..., 9-11).
