Dear Berean Call,
I have recently finished reading Dave Hunt’s book, Sanctuary of the Chosen. What a book from beginning to end—exciting and scary. As a Christian, I realize that many of the happenings in your book are true and frightening at times, especially when so many cannot see what is going one, even in their own countries. I will be passing your book on to help people try to realize what will happen, not to scare but to prepare them to trust our Heavenly Father for our eternal future. BS (New Zealand)
Dear TBC,
Back in the March newsletter T. A. had a “sidebar” column entitled, “Weaning Ourselves off Ourselves.” Boy, did that hit me right between the eyes. More and more I had begun to get the feeling over the last few months that my “problem” with the church I was attending had a lot less to do with them and the one part of doctrine that I parted ways with them over—and everything to do with me, myself, and I.
Then came the April newsletter article “Can’t Find a Church?” As I read it and in conjunction with what T. A. had said in the [TBC Notes], all I could think of, over and over, was “guilty as charged.” I have been so wrapped up in “my needs” and what I was looking for was to “get out of” the church. I had failed to consider how I might be of service. I had been taking and being fed, and giving back nothing. This was a hard truth to swallow.
The good news is I returned to the little local church…they all welcomed me back. I know that the last several months I have been going through some very tough personal struggles and I believe that a lot of my struggle could have been lessened if I had gone back sooner. MC (NH)
Dear TA and Everyone at TBC,
We cannot express our gratitude and thankfulness enough for your ministry—So thankful that you all carry on even after the death of Dave Hunt. Our family enjoys reading the newsletter every month and appreciates the way it keeps us alert to the many false teachings that are creeping in!
Keep up the good work, and may God strengthen, encourage, comfort, and protect you as you keep pressing on. MP (WA)
Dear TBC,
I have just received and read your latest article, “The Importance of Fundamentalism.” In it you explain the fundamentals of the Gospel, and, in my opinion, left out one of the fundamentals of the Gospel. I am talking about repentance. I am a pastor and have preached for years and have recently come to realize that I have been weak on this in the past. I have appreciated your ministry very much over the years. May the Lord bless the Berean Call ministry. PS (email)
Dear TBC,
John Wesley preached a sermon at Bristol, England, in 1740 called “Free Grace.” It is one of the finest anti-Calvinist sermons that I have ever read. It explains the words, phrases, and terms that Cavlinists use to deceive the hearts and souls of men. This sermon and Dave Hunt’s books Honest Doubts and What Love Is This? are “must reads.
Also, Lighthouse Trails ministry is another, just like The Berean Call, that is faithful and preaches scriptural truth. JW (KY)
