Mormon Leaders Renounce their Scripture | thebereancall.org

Everyone involved with Mormonism knows that this grand calling included the golden plates that Joseph translated using a high hat and a seer stone or the Urim and Thummim, in the bottom of the hat.

While there are a number of descriptions of this holy event, the basic story is that he would put his head into the hat, blocking out the light and read the English words for the characters as they moved across the bottom of the hat.

He said that the spirit would confirm the accuracy of his translation, so that every word was recorded correctly. You can read his entire story about this in the LDS Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith, History.

I want to add that in the Introduction of the Book of Mormon, itself, we learn this important factor.

In due course the plates were delivered to Joseph Smith, who translated them by the gift and power of God…Concerning this record the Prophet Joseph Smith said:  “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”

OK. So the Book of Mormon, according to every LDS Prophet, Seer and Revelator is perfect, true and without error. The Anchor of their Faith, one of three divine books to live by.

OK, I have that out of the way and will not bury you in another couple of dozen Mormon authorized declarations of its non-changeable, given from God purity of facts. Now, let me tell you what has me wondering what else can they do to destroy the church from within.

This year, the church members will be studying the Book of Mormon. The manuals are group and age related.

But when early copies of one manual popped up with reference to the Lord placing dark skin on bad people, the church went into a tailspin trying to get out of the hole its own scripture put them in.

According to an article by Tribune Reporter, Peggy Fletcher Stack, this was an error in printing. Let me quote her here as she shares the Church’s Politically Correct spin on the issue.

“Several passages describe a 'dark skin' descending on one of the clans, and for much of the faith’s history that has been seen as a racial ‘curse.' These days, though, that interpretation is no longer part of church teaching. That is why several early readers of the 2020 Come, Follow Me manual were troubled to see a note in one lesson that is a throwback to previous thinking. "The dark skin was placed upon the Lamanites so that they could be distinguished from the Nephites and to keep the two peoples from mixing," the book explains, citing a statement made some 60 years ago by then-apostle and future church President Joseph Fielding Smith. “The dark skin was the sign of the curse. The curse was the withdrawal of the Spirit of the Lord. … Dark skin … is no longer to be considered a sign of the curse.”

A Church spokesperson, Irene Caso, cleared it up for us.  In Stack’s article, she adds: “During the publication of the Come, Follow Me manual for 2020, there was an error that resulted in the printing of material that doesn’t reflect the church’s current views on the topic,” she said in a statement. “To correct this, a decision was made to modify the content in the digital version of the lesson.”

These days, Caso added, the church “disavows the theories advanced in the past that black skin is a sign of divine disfavor or curse, or that it reflects unrighteous actions in a premortal life; that mixed-race marriages are a sin; or that blacks or people of any other race or ethnicity are inferior in any way to anyone else. “

The Church now condemns their very own scripture. So it is now down to this.

A group with its holy, only true prophet and truths, brings forth a book they call holy scripture that clearly separates them from all of Christianity and condemns all others as the church of the Devil. 1Nephi  14: 9-10, Once out there and proclaimed to the world, this group cannot begin to tear apart its own doctrines or rip pages from its god breathed scripture to satisfy political and social movements.

To do so clearly dishonors and declares its own scripture and authority pure fabrication and a lie birthed in the cauldrons of demons.
