Well, of course we don’t have billions of years, so with another stroke of Dawkins’s magic, let’s shrink the time scale. Now you can see that it’s quite easy to become a billionaire if we just take it in small enough steps. Anyone could surely earn $1,000. Then you could earn another thousand just as easily. And taking it a tiny step at a time it would only take another $1,000 to arrive at a nest egg of $3,000, and so forth, up to $1 billion.
