Mystery piled on mystery! Dawkins thinks that the laws governing matter (whether solid, liquid, or gas) developed as part of an evolutionary/natural selection process. This is a classic “Which came first, the chicken or the egg?” dilemma. How could the laws that govern matter have always existed in anticipation of when energy would come into existence and form matter? What came first, the matter or the laws that energy and matter obey?
