Could it be that the theories we’ve been mentioning are the product of a strong desire to justify the atheism that certain eminent scientists espouse? Shouldn’t we be aware of the fact that an atheist’s rejection of God provides a powerful motive for his research to prove that God does not exist? Might that not adversely affect his scientific theories? Remember Pascal’s wager? Here it is in essence: If a Christian bets his life on God’s existence and eternity in bliss with Him and is wrong, he has only lost this life, which atheists claim is a meaningless delusion anyway. But if an atheist bets that there is no God and thus no eternal judgment after death and is wrong, he will suffer for it forever.
