Paul declared that “the gospel of God” that he preached was backed up by the Old Testament. He begins his epistle to the Romans with these words: “Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God (which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures)” (Romans:1:1-2 [1] Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto the in all the scriptures the things concerning himself” (Luke:24:25-27 [25] Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:

He told His disciples repeatedly that “all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the laws of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me” (Luke:24:44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
