[TBC: The atheist approach often involves the use of select quotations. If he were to quote just a little bit more from Matthew 5 he would severely undercut his point. In other words, the Lord Jesus is instituting a change. The law (with all its stringent requirements) was given to show man how exceedingly sinful he was. Jesus brought a better way, a way that allowed mercy and grace to be shown to our enemies (Hebrews 10).]
