After much prayer and discussion, we have decided to hold the TBC Conference only “online” this year. Restrictions in Oregon have just tightened again, and it is very doubtful that things will get better in the next month. Other than the basic limits of how many people can meet in one place, there are other challenging issues like distancing, restrooms, food, weather, travel, lodging, and whatever else may come up.
We will be putting all of our efforts into making the online conference very functional and a blessing for everyone. We’ve got some good ideas and trust the Lord will use the conference online. There is potential for reaching many more people!

If you think the title of this has to do with the current pandemic uncertainties and inaccuracies, it does so only coincidentally. No, this is far more important. A major problem for many believers who are continually engrossed in the news reports from the various media is the mesmerizing effect it has on their minds. At the very least, such activity clouds and can even bury what they have been taught from God’s Word.
The Apostle Peter writes, “Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you, knowing that shortly I must put off my tent, just as our Lord Jesus Christ showed me. Moreover I will be careful to ensure that you always have a reminder of these things after my decease” and “This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour…” (2 Peter:1:13-15 [13] Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
[14] Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
[15] Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
See All...; 2 Peter:3:1-2 [1] This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
[2] That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:
See All...).
We need to be continually reminded of God’s words. Unlike what the world puts forth, they are absolutely true and eternal. Again Peter reminds us, “But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you” (1 Peter:1:25But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
See All...).
Remember, the Gospel, and all it includes, is good news. Make sure you are filling your “pure minds” with God’s love and truth. That’s the antidote for fear.
