Worshipping the Creation Rather than the Creator

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

—(Romans:1:18-23)

No one can know God unless he or she is born again. Yet a person can know things about God, such as the truth that He is the creator of all things. His “eternal power” in making the expanse of the universe and the incredible complexity of a human cell are “clearly seen.” That knowledge, when recognized, should cause all humanity to seek to know Him. When that doesn’t take place, mankind is “without excuse.” Furthermore, God’s creatures become “vain” in their thinking, “fools” in their wisdom, their “hearts darkened.” The belief in evolution attests to that.

What does all that lead to? The godhood of “corruptible man!” That’s the lie that Eve believed and the Antichrist will foster. It’s widespread throughout the world and increasing in Christendom. Concerning these last days prior to the return of Jesus, we need to pay serious attention to our Lord’s warning: “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.” Pray that believers in Christ will “take heed.”
