Taking a Lesson from Jesus
If you’re looking for something to begin focusing on this upcoming year, how about taking a lesson from Jesus? In John:8:29And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
See All..., regarding His relationship with His Father, Jesus declared, “…I do always those things that please him.” Given the perfect holiness of God, it’s hard to believe that we could please Him. We are told, however, that we can be confident that our obedience to God’s Word results in doing those things that are “pleasing in His sight” (1 John:3:21-22 [21] Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God.

Our prayer for all who follow Jesus is that throughout the year ahead we might live out the testimony of Enoch: “He pleased God” (Hebrews:11:5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
