Some may think of it as standing for a health Disaster or even Death. Actually, it stands for Disease. But biblical Christians, though recognizing the harmful side of the virus, also see the D as assuring Divine opportunities.
The pandemic has certainly given believers lots of very safe opportunities, as well as the time to bless others whether they know the Lord or not. When isolation has intensified the fears of many, the simple act of showing that someone cares for them is a terrific witness. Communication by phone is a delight for those we haven’t talked to in ages. Picking up needed grocery items for the elderly may generate many thanks. Some are emailing live-streaming church services, passing out tracts, and giving away biblical DVDs. The list could go on and on.
Yet here is the instruction and wonderful divine opportunity encouragement from God’s Word: “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.” 1 Corinthians:3:6-9 [6] I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
[7] So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.
[8] Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
[9] For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
