We are well aware that there are many (and increasing) manifestations of icons sweating oil (or tears, or blood), and of oil or blood dripping from people’s hands, but that does not mean these are from the Lord. This can be (a) the result of chicanery (human manipulation and fraud) or (b) a demonic manifestation—in either event, meant by Satan to deceive. The final word is found in the Scriptures. The Lord has warned against icons; see Exodus:20:4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
