Question: Based upon 1 Sam:28:19Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.
See All..., where are King Saul and his sons now?
Response: The spirit of dead Samuel, apparently allowed to appear by God for a special purpose in this particular case, said to King Saul, "...and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines." It is possible that by "with me" Samuel simply meant that Saul and his sons would die. On the other hand, Saul had once been the anointed king of Israel and he and his sons had served Israel well for a time. There had been much to commend Saul at first and indications that he knew the Lord God of Israel. Though he had sinned and was punished in being removed from the throne and dying because of that, Saul and his sons (especially Jonathan) may have been true believers in Yahweh and could be in Heaven.
