Dear TBC,
[Concerning your video Is It Okay to Paraphrase the Bible, see—https://bit.ly/3tW9Avs] Paraphrasing is perfectly okay when it comes to stating something in shorthand, or, conversely, expounding upon something. Matthew:4:4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
See All... and Luke:4:4And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
See All... could be defined as a paraphrasing of Deuteronomy:8:3And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live.
See All..., and that is Jesus himself, talking about every word that proceeded out of the mouth of God. But, the issue is when it changes the truth into a lie: “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen” (Romans:1:25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
See All...). Errors like that can be done even out of carelessness, so it’d be good to be careful. Anon. (email)
Dear TBC,
Thank you [Brad Huddleston] for your work. I worked at a suicide prevention helpline. I was shocked at the amount of young girls from teens to twenties that are suffering from serious mental health problems—and in talking to them, their problems began with social media—cyber bullying, parents who had no idea that their kids were getting viciously bullied into the night because of their phones. These girls are in a really bad way. This message is so important. Protect your children and yourselves. OL (email)
Dear TBC,
The entertainment/marketing approach is so one-size-fits-all and makes so many shallow assumptions about people. Truth from God speaks to the individual. This journey of obedience, of taking God's hand and letting Him lead, is so exciting and satisfying and mysterious. I think many people who are searching for meaning, especially young people who value authenticity, would be very attracted to that. FL (email)
Dear TBC,
Around the time I was born again, I encountered [two documentaries] that stipulated that alien abductions are demonic. Testimony after testimony, of “them” fleeing when the name of Jesus is spoken, just like the demoniacs in the NT books. I was never abducted, but oppressed and haunted several times. I believe it is real, but in another era, it would have been considered demonic activity and it is.
Only secular humanism's pollution of America makes it something else. It's good to see people talking about this topic. As Christians, we need to focus on prayer, daily Bible reading and church attendance/membership with discipling and witnessing. We should keep our minds simple concerning things that are evil, but we should not ignore these topics. We should be able to speak to them so we are not deceived by them so we can witness to those who need the gospel who suffer from these things. Early in my born-again life, Brother Hunt was in a lot of things I was watching that God has used greatly in my life. KS (email)
Dear TBC,
Jesus is the Truth. As a believer with a relationship with Jesus we can access any particular truth, but one of the truest things I know is many souls are in peril because of their lack of knowing Jesus. What knowledge of man could be of any use to someone in hell? Eating from the tree of knowledge harmed mankind and placed a division between man and God. Through the blood of Christ we can eat from the tree of life.
It perplexes me that many reject the path of truth and life in vain attempts to acquire righteousness for themselves. Thank you for not deviating from the Word! MJ (email)
