God Bless America! Seriously?

In October of 2017, I wrote a TBC article titled “Bless God!” Sadly, Americans in general haven’t been blessed by God, nor have we blessed Him. It’s not just the fact that evil is increasing exponentially throughout our society. It’s more basic than that. We are a country of religious pluralism, i.e., one country, many religions. There’s the problem. God’s blessings, and our blessing Him, can only take place in obedience to His truth: “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John:4:24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
See All...). That cannot happen among those who haven’t been born again, among those who do not believe John:14:6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Nevertheless, we who worship God in spirit and in truth can bless God as well as bless America by sharing the good news of the gospel with fellow Americans as the Lord gives us opportunity. This we know because, “The Lord is…longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter:3:9The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
